You can see Group pages of various VEFN Members by going to the Groups menu and scrolling down.

Your Group Page is a webpage which you can update at any time. You can describe your group, its activities, and include your photos, etc.

  • It helps you advertise your group online and can attract new members and volunteers to your activities.
  • It includes a location pin on the Groups Map which helps the public find groups in your area.

You can find you own Group Page by putting a unique keyword from your group’s name in the Search by Group Name box (which is just below the Google map) on the Groups page.

Then scroll down to see your Group’s main photo and summary appear.
(If your Group Page looks minimal, now is the time to update it. More on that below.)

One of the benefits of joining the VEFN is that your group gets its own public "Group Page" on VEFN’s website.

Your Group Page - a mini-website for your group.

Editing and updating your Group Page

If you haven’t already got a website, your VEFN Group Page may save you from having to pay for one.  You can copy your VEFN Group Page’s web address, which looks like
https://www.vefn.org.au/groups/your-group-name
and use it as your Group’s “web address” in your social media, newsletters, etc.

Your Group information also helps VEFN too. We gather an overall view of the number and range of volunteer members working in the environment, and their operational issues, so that we can approach the Government and other organisations to advocate on your behalf.

  • Go to the VEFN website
  • Select the “My Account” button.
  • If you aren’t logged in yet, it will prompt you to log in now. Follow the prompts. If you can’t login, please contact VEFN to arrange a login.
  • When you are logged in, you will see the “My Account” page and a Dashboard menu.
  • Select Group Profile, and see a heading “Your Group Profile”, and a link “Update your Group profile > your group name”.
  • Select that link and see a new webpage Update Group Profile, which is a long form with many mainly optional questions to answer.
  • The website system will convert your information in this form to your Group page, which is the webpage shown to website visitors in the Groups menu.
  • The few questions marked with a red star * must be filled in. All the other questions are optional, to give groups a wide choice of topics that suit them.
  • It is a long form to fill in. You can fill it in several sessions, and “Saving” or “Submitting” the work so far, and then adding more later when it suits.
  • Start small and fill a few easy answers. Leave the difficult ones to later. Concentrate on putting accurate details into the (red star) mandatory questions.
  • You can update any details later if there are changes (e.g. after an AGM).
